Where is skEdit 4.1.4????
Some of you might be wondering where skEdit 4.1.4 is. Well....It is taking a little longer to learn the code and get everything going. And I am toying with the idea of skipping the 4.1.4 release and do a 4.2 release early next year. There is a really cool feature that I would like to add to skEdit, I think that it would really be a nice thing to have, in addition to a bunch of bug fixes. Add your comments and votes to help me decide.

New function and tools are welcome.
1. php syntax error checking
2. better code color
4. new standard support
Let me know if you need beta tester.

I wish you the best of luck with the development of skEdit, I do hope it can gain the ground it has lost of the past few years.
As for 4.1.4 vs 4.2, the software needs a shunt to get it under new peoples noses. It needs to stand out again... focus on the new feature(s), get it nice and polished and dazzle in the new year. Another few months isn't going to make much difference at this stage.
Oh one other thing, I'm glad you're keeping folk informed via this blog - have seen a lot of devs losing touch with their client base by not keeping them informed.

Nothing to add, other than that i would like skedit to be friendly to other languages, other than "strictly" web languages. Bash/sh comes to mind. There's not even syntax coloring for that.
Also, i would like the ability to set new documents to be "plain text" (or whatever really) rather than "HTML+Embedded".
The completion feature doesn't work really well with ruby/python. I would suggest a more crude completion feature (to complement the built in) for languages that doesn't work very well with skedit's code completion (F5), based on simply indexing "words" in the current document(s) and completing a incomplete word on hitting escape (such as textmate does).
All in all, i think you would be surprised how many of us want a text editor, that can do more than just web languages (even if web languages may be it's primary target).

We have some ideas of what we would like to include.
But by all means if you also have ideas, send them along.

The only comment I have is around stability. I agree with the comments about stability before bells and whistles.

Looking forward for the next version
All I want is support for html 5 and css 3, and that is remember which files I have opened in a project after quitting.
Best regards, Magnus
